An important facet of our organization is the recruitment and support of students from the Pensacola Metropolitan Northwest Florida area. Our scholarship program is a major part of that effort.

The Pensacola Florida Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship was established in 1996 from gifts donated by the Pensacola, Florida Chapter. As of December 31, 2002, the corpus book value for the Pensacola Florida Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship was $70,023.09. These monies are invested in The University of Alabama Endowment Pool.

The University of Alabama pools its endowment funds from the three campuses, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Alabama at Huntsville, and the University of Alabama, and employs professional investment managers based upon past performance, expertise, and style of investing. This policy emphasizes the commitment of the University to long-range financial planning to keep pace with inflation and evolving University needs.

Priority of consideration is given to entering freshmen from Escambia or Santa Rosa County, Florida. During 2002-03 awards were made to:

$500.00 to Amanda Michelle Adkins, a sophomore from Pensacola, Florida, who is majoring in Public Relations.
